Lawyer and notary with more than 25 years of solid experience in intellectual property. 

She studied at the University of Costa Rica, where she obtained her degree as lawyer and notary public in 1998.  Later in 2001, she obtained a postgraduate in registry law in Madrid.  After that, in 2006, she got a master degree in intellectual property at the UNED. 

She started her professional career at the Real Estate and Commercial Registry of the National Registry of Costa Rica (1997 – 2003). Then she was one of the legal advisers of the Registry of Copyright and Related Rights (2003- 2006). After that, she worked at the Intellectual Property Registry (2005- 2006) and at the Alternative Dispute Resolution Commission of Costa Rican Lawyer School. 

She has also been part of the Association of Collective Management of Musical Performers of Costa Rica best known as AIE-CR (2006- to now) and from the Association of Composer and Authors of Costa Rica, known as ACAM (2015- to now)

In 2023, she joined Signaturelex as Senior Associate.

Additionally, she is a member of the Juridical Commitment of the Ibero Latin American Federation of Artists, Interpreters and Performers (FILAIE) and the Association of Professionals in Intellectual Property of Costa Rica (APPICR).

Actually, M.S.C Ana Grettel Coto, is a notary public who works as external in financial institutions like the MUCAP.

In the area of education, she had a long career giving courses at the Intellectual Property Master Degree Program at the UNED and at the Notary and Registry Master Degree Program of the University of Costa Rica.
